Chhattisgarh Promotes Four 2010-Batch IAS Officers After Phase-IV Training, Padum Singh Alma Among Key Beneficiaries

In a major administrative move aimed at strengthening governance structures across the state, the Government of Chhattisgarh has promoted four Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers of the 2010 batch and simultaneously reassigned them to new portfolios following their successful completion of the Mid-Career Training (Phase-IV) programme.

The promotions and fresh postings were formally notified through an official order issued by the General Administration Department (GAD), Government of Chhattisgarh, confirming changes in rank and departmental responsibilities in line with prevailing administrative requirements.

The Mid-Career Training (Phase-IV) is a compulsory professional upgradation programme conducted for senior IAS officers to prepare them for higher leadership roles. Completion of this advanced training phase qualifies officers for promotion to elevated positions that involve greater strategic, policy-making and supervisory responsibilities within the state bureaucracy.

As per the notification released by the GAD, the following four IAS officers of the 2010 batch have been promoted:

Saransh Mittar Singh, IAS

Padum Singh Alma, IAS

Ramesh Kumar Sharma, IAS

Dharmesh Kumar Sahu, IAS

Subsequent to their elevation, the state government has also ordered a transfer and reallocation of their charges, placing them in fresh roles considered vital for administrative performance, departmental leadership and public service delivery across various wings of the state administration.

Officials indicated that this reshuffle is part of a broader governance strategy to deploy experienced and recently upskilled officers into positions where their enhanced capabilities can contribute more effectively to policy execution, institutional strengthening and citizen-centric service reforms.

Such periodic promotions and cadre realignments form an integral component of Chhattisgarh’s administrative framework, ensuring continuity in leadership while simultaneously injecting renewed efficiency, accountability and professionalism into the state’s governance machinery.
