Andhra Pradesh Transfers 14 IAS Officers in Major Administrative Overhaul, P. Sreenivasulu Appointed Joint Collector & ADM of Markapuram
In a major statewide administrative exercise aimed at strengthening governance delivery at the district and urban local body levels, the Government of Andhra Pradesh has ordered the transfer and fresh placement of fourteen Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers with immediate effect.
The official directions were issued through G.O.Rt. No. 63 dated January 12, 2026, signed by Chief Secretary K. Vijayanand, marking one of the most comprehensive reshuffles of district and municipal administration in recent months. Senior officials indicated that the move is intended to reinforce leadership across municipal corporations, district administrations and key service departments while aligning officer deployment with the state’s evolving development priorities.
P. Sreenivasulu Shifted to Markapuram as Joint Collector & ADM
P. Sreenivasulu (IAS, 2017 batch), who had been serving as Municipal Commissioner of the Guntur Municipal Corporation, has now been appointed Joint Collector and Additional District Magistrate of Markapuram district. His new assignment entrusts him with key responsibilities relating to revenue administration, law and order coordination and implementation of flagship government programmes at the district level.

Kathawate Mayur Ashok (IAS, 2018 batch) has been transferred from Visakhapatnam district and appointed as the new Municipal Commissioner of the Guntur Municipal Corporation, placing him in charge of urban governance, civic infrastructure expansion and municipal service delivery in one of the state’s fastest-growing urban centres.
Health Department Strengthened with Senior Posting
Gopala Krishna Ronanki (IAS, 2017 batch) has been positioned as Joint Secretary in the Health, Medical and Family Welfare Department, where he will play a central role in healthcare policy execution, public health administration and coordination of medical services across Andhra Pradesh.
Strategic Appointments to State Departments and Urban Authorities
As part of the same order, the government has also announced several critical appointments:
Shrivas Nupur Ajaykumar (IAS, 2018 batch) has been appointed Director of Civil Supplies, entrusting him with oversight of public distribution systems and essential commodity management.
Kalpana Kumari (IAS, 2018 batch) has been moved from the Girijan Cooperative Corporation and appointed Joint Collector, Prakasam district, strengthening district-level revenue and welfare administration.
R. Govinda Rao (IAS, 2018 batch) has been appointed Vice-Chairman of the Tirupati Urban Development Authority (TUDA), assigning him a key role in urban planning, infrastructure development and regulatory oversight in the Tirupati region.

Vijayanand confirmed that additional posting orders will be issued separately, indicating that the present reshuffle is part of a broader and continuing administrative reorganisation process. Officials noted that the multi-cadre reshuffle reflects the government’s strategic focus on strengthening district governance, improving urban administration and accelerating public service delivery mechanisms across Andhra Pradesh.
