Rajasthan Bureaucracy Shake-Up: All 41 Districts Get New IAS In-Charge Secretaries, 13 Women Officers Lead Key Districts

In a historic administrative overhaul, the Rajasthan government has appointed new IAS in-charge secretaries for all 41 districts of the state. This large-scale reshuffle, announced by the Department of Administrative Reforms, is aimed at strengthening governance, improving coordination, and promoting women’s leadership in district administration.

Significantly, 13 districts have been entrusted to women IAS officers, marking a milestone in gender representation and inclusivity in Rajasthan’s bureaucracy.

Statewide Reshuffle: First in Recent Years

The reshuffle order was issued on Thursday, replacing officers in charge of all 41 districts.

This is the first simultaneous transfer of such scale in recent years; the last major reshuffle took place on February 28, 2024.

The move involves senior IAS officers, divisional commissioners, and even two APO (awaiting posting orders) officers—P.C. Kishan and Khajan Singh—who have been assigned to Dausa and Salumber respectively before their permanent postings.

 Key Appointments in Major Districts

Jaipur: Gayatri A. Rathore, Principal Secretary, Health Department

Jodhpur: Bhawani Singh Detha, Principal Secretary, Women & Child Development Department

Udaipur: T. Ravikanth, Principal Secretary, Mines Department

Ajmer: Neeraj K. Pawan, Secretary, Sports & Youth Affairs

Bharatpur: Anandhi, Registrar of Cooperatives

Bikaner: Debasish Prusty, Principal Secretary, Urban Development & Housing Department

Senior officers have been strategically placed in major districts to ensure effective governance and faster decision-making.

 Women IAS Officers Lead 13 Districts

This reshuffle is a major step toward gender inclusivity in Rajasthan’s administration. Thirteen women IAS officers have been appointed as in-charge secretaries, including leadership roles in divisional headquarters.

Bhilwara: Manju Rajpal, Principal Secretary, Agriculture & Horticulture Department

Bundi: Rukmani Riar, Tourism Commissioner

Deeg: Nalini Kathotia, Divisional Commissioner, Bharatpur

Dungarpur: Neha Giri, Director, Livelihood Projects

Karauli: Shuchi Tyagi, Secretary, Transport Department

Kotputli-Behror: Anupama Jorwal, State Project Director, Samagra Shiksha

Khairthal-Tijara: Poonam, Divisional Commissioner, Jaipur

Pratapgarh: Pragya Kewalramani, Divisional Commissioner, Udaipur

Sirohi: Pratibha Singh, Divisional Commissioner, Jodhpur

This reflects the government’s commitment to empowering women officers and strengthening governance at the district level.

 Divisional Commissioners Assigned District Charges

All divisional commissioners have been given charge of one district within their division. This move is expected to:

Enhance coordination between state and district-level administration.

Ensure quicker policy implementation.

Improve responsiveness to local governance issues.
