ACC Approves Three-Month Extension of IAS Officer M. Ramachandrudu’s Central Deputation as Director of Census Operations and Citizen Registration, Bihar

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the proposal of the Ministry of Home Affairs for the extension of the central deputation tenure of Shri M. Ramachandrudu, IAS (Bihar cadre, 2009 batch).

Ramachandrudu is currently serving as Director of Census Operations (DCO) and Director of Citizen Registration (DCR), Bihar under the Ministry of Home Affairs. His tenure has now been extended for a period of three months beyond December 31, 2025, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

 Post Upgraded to Joint Secretary Level

The extension has been sanctioned by continuing the upgradation of the post presently held by the officer to the level of Joint Secretary. This ensures that the responsibilities associated with Census Operations and Citizen Registration in Bihar are managed at a senior administrative level, reflecting the importance of these functions in national governance.

 Significance of the Extension

The decision underscores the government’s priority in maintaining continuity in census operations and citizen registration activities.

With upcoming census-related exercises and citizen data management requirements, the extension provides stability in leadership.
