The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has formally ratified a proposal submitted by the Department of Health and Family Welfare to prolong the central deputation of Shri Pushpendra Rajput, a seasoned bureaucrat of the 1999-batch Himachal Pradesh cadre.
Mr. Rajput, who served with distinction as Joint Secretary within the Ministry, has been granted a tenure extension spanning one year, effective beyond November 29, 2025.
According to the official communication, this extension remains valid until November 29, 2026, or until further administrative orders are issued, whichever milestone is reached first. The decision to retain Mr. Rajput’s services at the central level underscores the government’s strategic intent to maintain leadership stability within the Department of Health and Family Welfare during a critical period of policy implementation and public health management.
By leveraging Mr. Rajput’s extensive administrative experience and his deep institutional knowledge of health-sector initiatives, the Centre aims to ensure the seamless progression of ongoing national healthcare projects.
This move is characteristic of the government’s approach to retaining high-performing officers in key departments to facilitate effective governance and continuity at the highest echelons of the federal administration.
