Premature Repatriation of Divya Alathur Bharathan Sanctioned to Parent Cadre for Promotional Advancement
The Competent Authority has officially greenlit the recommendation from the Department of Pension & Pensioners’ Welfare to authorize the premature repatriation of Ms. Divya Alathur Bharathan. An accomplished officer belonging to the 2008 batch of the Indian Posts & Telecommunications Accounts and Finance Service (IP&TA&FS),
Ms. Bharathan has been serving as Director within the department. Her transition back to her parent cadre is strategically timed to enable her to accept and secure the professional benefits associated with an upcoming promotion.
According to the executive directive issued on February 9, 2026, the Department of Pension & Pensioners’ Welfare has been advised to relieve Ms. Bharathan of her current duties with immediate effect. This prompt release will allow her to report back to her home cadre and assume her elevated responsibilities without delay.
Ms. Bharathan’s tenure at the central level has been marked by her contributions to the Department of Expenditure and the Department of Pension, where she previously held the role of Deputy Secretary before her elevation to Director.
Her return to the IP&TA&FS—the specialized financial arm of the Department of Telecommunications and the Department of Posts—signifies a move to strengthen the senior financial leadership within her parent organization.
