Punjab Vigilance Bureau Reassigns Responsibilities to IPS Officers; Harpreet Singh to Lead Economic Offences Wings

The Punjab Vigilance Bureau has reshuffled responsibilities among two senior IPS officers as part of an internal restructuring aimed at improving coordination and operational efficiency. The decision, announced through an official order from the bureau’s headquarters in Chandigarh, assigns Naveen Singla and Harpreet Singh additional supervisory duties across multiple wings and ranges of the department.
The order, signed by Chief Director Praveen Kumar Sinha, has taken immediate effect, replacing all previous work distribution directives.
Naveen Singla Assigned Oversight of Key Vigilance Units
IPS officer Naveen Singla, currently serving as Director in the Punjab Vigilance Bureau, has been entrusted with supervision of several critical operational units. His responsibilities now include:
The VB Flying Squad operating across Punjab
Vigilance ranges in Jalandhar, Rupnagar (SAS Nagar), Ludhiana, Patiala, and Bathinda
In addition to field units, Singla will oversee important wings at the Vigilance Bureau headquarters, including:
Administration branch
IVC and SU wings
Crime and Complaint Cell
All technical officers posted at headquarters
Harpreet Singh to Lead Economic Offences Wings
IPS officer Harpreet Singh, currently serving as Deputy Inspector General of Police for the Economic Offences Wing, has been assigned supervision of:
Economic Offences Wings (EOW-1 and EOW-2) across Punjab
The EOW unit in Ludhiana
Vigilance ranges in Amritsar and Ferozepur
His expanded role strengthens oversight of investigations into corruption and financial irregularities across these regions.

Officials stated that the redistribution of responsibilities is intended to streamline operations within the Vigilance Bureau. By expanding supervisory roles for senior officers, the department aims to:
