Senior IAS officer Jaibir Singh Arya has retired from service after more than three decades in Haryana’s administration, concluding a career defined by transparency, financial stewardship, and grassroots engagement. Arya, who retired on April 30, 2026, was serving as Commissioner and Secretary at the time of his superannuation, leaving behind a reputation for accessible governance and citizen-focused leadership.

From Civil Services to IAS

Belonging to the 2009 IAS batch, Arya began his journey in public service through the Haryana Civil Services (Executive) in 1997, where he secured the fourth rank. His steady rise through the administrative ranks was marked by integrity, efficiency, and a results-driven approach across diverse assignments.

Career Anchored in Governance and Finance

Arya held several pivotal roles in Haryana’s administrative framework, contributing significantly to both policy formulation and implementation. His leadership extended across finance, urban governance, and institutional management.

Arya’s credibility extended beyond India, as he served as an international observer during Sri Lanka’s 2015 elections, reflecting his global administrative stature. Arya graduated from Kurukshetra University and pursued postgraduation in Public Administration from Panjab University. He further enhanced his leadership skills through an Executive Management Program at Cornell University, USA.
