Trainee IAS Officers Explore Polavaram and Pattiseema Projects Under AP Darshan Programme, Gain Insights into Mega Water Infrastructure

In an effort to provide future civil servants with practical exposure to some of the country’s most ambitious infrastructure initiatives, a group of trainee Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers from the 2025 batch undertook an extensive field visit to the Polavaram Irrigation Project and the Pattiseema Lift Irrigation Scheme in Andhra Pradesh.

The visit was conducted as part of the AP Darshan Programme, a specially designed exposure initiative that enables young administrators to study major developmental projects on the ground and understand the challenges involved in planning, executing, and managing large-scale public infrastructure.

For the trainee officers, the tour was much more than a routine field inspection.
