Madhya Pradesh Government Transfers 4 IAS Officers; Bharti Jadav Ogre Gets Higher Education, Manisha Sentia Tourism Charge
The Madhya Pradesh government has reshuffled the responsibilities of four IAS officers as part of an administrative rejig across key departments. The General Administration Department issued the transfer and posting orders on August 19, 2026, assigning new responsibilities to officers in the Higher Education, Tourism, Home, and New and Renewable Energy departments.
The latest order covers Bharti Jadav Ogre, Manisha Sentia, Shubhasmita Saxena and Vivek Kumar, with each officer being moved to a new assignment or given a fresh departmental responsibility. The changes bring experienced administrative officers into departments dealing with important areas such as higher education, tourism, internal administration and renewable energy.
Bharti Jadav Ogre Gets Higher Education Department
Bharti Jadav Ogre, a 2012-batch IAS officer, has been transferred from the Mineral Resources Department and posted as Additional Secretary, Higher Education Department.
Before the latest reshuffle, she was serving as Additional Secretary, Mineral Resources Department. Under the order issued by the General Administration Department on August 19, she will now take charge of the Higher Education Department in the same senior administrative capacity.
The Higher Education Department has a wide administrative mandate covering universities, higher educational institutions, academic administration, government policies and programmes related to higher education, and coordination with various institutions across the state.
Her new assignment will therefore involve handling important policy and administrative matters connected with the state’s higher education sector. At the Additional Secretary level, the role also involves coordination with senior officials, educational institutions and other departments on matters requiring government approval and implementation.
Manisha Sentia Appointed Additional Secretary, Tourism
Manisha Sentia, a 2013-batch IAS officer, has been given a new assignment as Additional Secretary, Tourism Department.
She was earlier serving as Additional Secretary, Home Department. The latest order shifts her from the Home Department to Tourism, placing her in charge of an area that has growing importance for Madhya Pradesh’s economy, employment generation and regional development.
Madhya Pradesh has a diverse tourism profile, ranging from heritage and religious destinations to wildlife reserves and natural attractions. The Tourism Department plays an important role in developing tourism infrastructure, promoting destinations, supporting tourism-related investment and implementing policies aimed at increasing visitor footfall.
Sentia’s experience in the Home Department adds to her administrative background as she moves into the tourism sector. Her new role will involve overseeing departmental matters and contributing to the implementation of government initiatives related to tourism development.
Shubhasmita Saxena Moves to Home Department
Shubhasmita Saxena, a 2016-batch IAS officer, has also been given a new posting. She has been appointed Deputy Secretary, Home Department, after being transferred from the Public Health and Medical Education Department.
Saxena was previously serving as Deputy Secretary, Public Health and Medical Education Department. Her move to the Home Department brings her into an important area of state administration dealing with internal security, law and order, police-related matters and other issues concerning the state’s internal administration.
As Deputy Secretary, she will be responsible for handling departmental files, administrative matters, policy proposals and coordination related to the Home Department. The assignment also places her in a department that routinely deals with sensitive and time-bound matters requiring close coordination with senior government and police officials.
Her shift from public health and medical education to home administration marks a change in the nature of her responsibilities, giving her exposure to another major area of state governance.
Vivek Kumar Posted as Deputy Secretary, New and Renewable Energy
The fourth officer included in the latest reshuffle is Vivek Kumar, a 2017-batch IAS officer. He has been posted as Deputy Secretary, New and Renewable Energy Department.
The department has assumed increasing importance as governments seek to expand clean energy capacity and reduce dependence on conventional energy sources. Solar power and other renewable energy projects are becoming an increasingly important part of the state’s broader energy strategy.
In his new role, Kumar will handle administrative and policy-related responsibilities within the department. His work is expected to involve coordination on departmental proposals, implementation of government programmes and administrative matters linked to renewable energy initiatives.
The posting comes at a time when renewable energy is becoming an important component of India’s broader energy transition. Madhya Pradesh has considerable potential for solar and other renewable energy projects, making the department an important part of the state’s development and infrastructure planning.
Four IAS Officers Moved Across Key Departments
The August 19 order represents a broad redistribution of administrative responsibilities rather than a single departmental change. Bharti Jadav Ogre has moved from Mineral Resources to Higher Education, while Manisha Sentia has shifted from Home to Tourism.
Shubhasmita Saxena has moved in the opposite direction, shifting from Public Health and Medical Education to the Home Department. Vivek Kumar, meanwhile, has been assigned to the New and Renewable Energy Department as Deputy Secretary.
The changes bring officers with experience in different areas of administration into departments that have distinct policy and operational requirements. Such reshuffles are a routine part of state government administration and are often aimed at aligning officers’ experience with current departmental requirements.
