The General Administration and Public Grievance Department issued the order on September 10, 2026, appointing Majhi to the new position with immediate effect for a period of one year. His re-engagement means that an experienced state administrator who had just completed his regular government career will continue to work within the Odisha administration, this time directly in the Chief Minister’s Office.
Majhi retired on August 31, 2026. Before superannuation, he was serving as Additional Secretary to the Government in the Home Department, following a significant tenure in the Revenue and Disaster Management Department.

According to the government notification, Trilochan Majhi has been appointed OSD-cum-Additional Secretary to Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi. The re-engagement is for one year and has taken effect immediately.
The appointment has been made by order of the Governor of Odisha. The notification was issued by Debasis Singh, Additional Secretary to the Government, on behalf of the General Administration and Public Grievance Department.

Who Is IAS Trilochan Majhi?
Trilochan Majhi is a 2012-batch IAS officer of the Odisha cadre who entered the IAS through promotion from the State Civil Service. His career has included senior responsibilities in important departments of the Odisha government, giving him extensive exposure to state-level administration.
Born on August 15, 1966, Majhi holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in Economics. His administrative career spans more than 14 years in the IAS, during which he handled responsibilities in departments including Revenue and Disaster Management and Home.
