adesh Police Reshuffle: 10 IPS and 127 State Police Service Officers Transferred, Alok Kumar Verma Gets Rewa CSP Post
The Madhya Pradesh government has ordered a major reshuffle in the state police department, transferring 10 Indian Police Service (IPS) officers and 127 State Police Service officers in one of the more extensive police reassignments issued in the state recently. The orders cover a wide range of urban and field postings, including ACP, CSP, SDOP, DSP and Assistant Commandant assignments across several districts and major cities.
The IPS component of the exercise covers officers from the 2023 and 2024 recruitment batches, with the new postings taking them to Indore, Bhopal, Rewa, Burhanpur, Narsinghpur, Ratlam, Sagar, Dhar and Singrauli. Among the prominent changes, Alok Kumar Verma has been posted as City Superintendent of Police (CSP), Rewa, while several other young IPS officers have been given field responsibilities in different parts of the state.
10 IPS Officers Get New Postings
The 10 IPS officers include four from the RR-2023 batch and six from RR-2024. The reshuffle gives several of these relatively young officers direct responsibility for city policing or sub-divisional policing, placing them in positions that involve significant operational and law-and-order responsibilities.
Manish Bhardwaj (RR-2023) has been posted as Assistant Commissioner of Police, Kotwali, Indore. His new assignment puts him in one of the state’s important urban policing jurisdictions.
Alok Kumar Verma (RR-2023) has been transferred as City Superintendent of Police, Rewa. He was earlier serving as Assistant Superintendent of Police in Dewas. His Rewa posting is among the notable changes in the latest order.
Vaibhav Priya (RR-2023) has been posted as SDOP, Nepanagar, Burhanpur, while Shubham Singh Thakur (RR-2023) has been assigned as SDOP, Gadarwara, Narsinghpur.
The 2024 batch is represented by six officers. Manoj Kumar has been posted as ACP, MP Nagar, Bhopal. Lekhraj Meena will serve as SDOP, Sailana, Ratlam, while Kajal Singh has been posted as SDOP, Khurai, Sagar.
Rajiv Agrawal has been transferred as SDOP, Kukshi, Dhar, and Dipanshu as SDOP, Manawar, Dhar. Amit Kumar has been posted as SDOP, Singrauli. The complete IPS list therefore brings four 2023-batch officers and six 2024-batch officers into new city and field assignments.
127 State Police Service Officers Also Shifted
The much larger part of the exercise concerns 127 State Police Service officers, mainly at the DSP and equivalent levels. Their transfers cover almost every type of police assignment, from district-level SDOP posts and city policing to crime, cyber policing, women safety, traffic, police headquarters and armed battalions.
Among the important changes, Maan Singh Tekam has moved from Police Headquarters, Bhopal, to the post of DSP, AJAK, Anuppur. Pritam Singh Balre, earlier SDOP Niwas in Mandla, has been posted as City Superintendent of Police, Balaghat, while Umesh Kumar Tiwari has moved from AJAK, Narsinghpur, to DSP Crime, Jabalpur.
Salil Sharma has been shifted from Selection/Recruitment at Police Headquarters, Bhopal, to SDOP Obedullaganj in Raisen. Trilok Chand Pawar has moved from Women Safety, Alirajpur, to ACP, Crime Branch, Urban Police Indore. Premnarayan Goyal has been posted as SDOP Sehore after serving as DSP in Sheopur.
The reshuffle also brings several officers into specialised and security-related assignments. Bhagat Singh Gothariya has moved from DSP Headquarters, Jabalpur, to Assistant Commandant, High Court Security, Jabalpur. Ratnesh Tomar has shifted from the 14th Battalion SAF, Gwalior, to ACP Bairagarh in Urban Bhopal, while Karnik Shrivastava has moved from Chief Minister Security to ACP Habibganj, Urban Bhopal.
Several field-level changes have also been made across districts. Mehanti Maravi has moved from Assistant Commandant, 6th Battalion SAF, Jabalpur, to SDOP Sihora, Jabalpur. Mohit Yadav has been transferred from SDOP Pipariya to SDOP Joura, Morena, while Prashant Singh Bhadauria has moved from the 17th Battalion SAF, Bhind, to SDOP Ambah, Morena.
Changes Across Bhopal, Indore and Other Major Centres
Urban policing has received considerable attention in the transfer exercise. Apoorv Bhalavi has been posted as ACP Judicial-2, Urban Police Bhopal, after serving as SDOP Lakhnadon, Seoni. Motilal Kushwaha has similarly moved from SDOP Agar Malwa to ACP Judicial-1, Urban Bhopal.
Arvind Singh has been transferred from SDOP Sarangpur, Rajgarh, to ACP Hanumanganj, Urban Bhopal, while Manju Chauhan has moved from DSP Rural Bhopal to DSP Cyber Headquarters, Bhopal. Sonu Dabar has shifted from SDOP Sironj, Vidisha, to DSP Rural, Indore.
The reshuffle also affects traffic policing. Umakant Choudhary has moved from DSP Rural, Indore, to DSP Traffic, Ujjain, while Vijay Singh Bhadauria has been transferred from DSP Headquarters, Morena, to DSP Traffic, Gwalior.
In another notable change, Yogendra Singh Bhadauria, earlier SDOP Rahatgarh in Sagar, has been posted as City Superintendent of Police, Dhar. Pooja Sharma has moved from SDOP Sehore to SDOP Rehli, Sagar, while Archana Rawat has been transferred from SDOP Barwaha, Khargone, to SDOP Dhamnod, Dhar.
More Field and Battalion-Level Changes
The transfer order also covers a substantial number of officers serving in the Special Armed Force and other specialised units. Shailendra Singh Thakur has moved from the 35th India Reserve Battalion SAF, Mandla, to the 7th Battalion SAF, Bhopal, while Manendra Goyal has shifted from the 15th Battalion SAF, Indore, to the 1st Battalion SAF, Indore.
Rajiv Tripathi has moved from the Madhya Pradesh Police Academy, Bhauri, Bhopal, to Assistant Commandant, 1st Battalion SAF, Indore. Satyapal Singh Baghel has also been shifted to the 1st Battalion SAF in Indore, while Subodh Lokhande has moved from the 6th Battalion at Jabalpur to the 17th Battalion SAF at Bhind.
Other field changes include Vinayak Shukla, transferred from SDOP Badoni, Datia, to SDOP Karera, Shivpuri; Vivek Veerbhadra Sharma, moved from SDOP Ashoknagar to DSP Headquarters, Morena; and Devendra Pratap Singh Chauhan, transferred from CSP Satna to SDOP Narsinghpur.
Trainee DSPs Also Given Field Responsibilities
The latest exercise does not stop with serving DSP-level officers. Several trainee Deputy Superintendents of Police have also been assigned field responsibilities as SDOPs in different districts.
Among them, Anand Kumar Rai has been posted as SDOP Sheopur after training in Guna. Shiv Pathak, a trainee DSP from Katni, has been assigned as SDOP Pawai in Panna, while Ashutosh Tyagi, from Satna, has been posted as SDOP Silwani, Raisen.
Anisha Jain has been posted as SDOP Keolari, Seoni, after serving as a trainee DSP in Ratlam. Deepak Singh Maravi has been assigned SDOP Pushprajgarh, Anuppur, after training in Ujjain. Roshni Kurmi has been posted as SDOP Sabalgarh, Morena, following her training in Singrauli
