IAS Promotion Through the State Administrative Service Route
Eligible officers serving in a state’s administrative service can be considered for promotion to the IAS under the applicable recruitment rules and regulations. The process involves consideration of eligible officers through the prescribed selection mechanism, subject to applicable requirements and available vacancies.
The promotions of the three Chhattisgarh officers have been made under the Indian Administrative Service (Recruitment) Rules, 1954, and the regulations governing appointment to the IAS by promotion.
