J&K Police Reshuffle: 6 IPS Officers Get New Postings, 12 DSPs Transferred; Aditi Verma Named SDPO West Srinagar
In a major administrative restructuring within the Jammu and Kashmir Police, Director General of Police (DGP) Nalin Prabhat has issued orders for the adjustment of six AGMUT-cadre Indian Police Service (IPS) officers alongside the immediate transfer and posting of 12 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs).
The comprehensive reshuffle, covering 18 senior police officers, recalibrates leadership across key district headquarters, sub-divisions, traffic wings, railway police, and specialized investigative bodies, including the State Investigation Agency (SIA) and the Economic Offences Wing (EOW).

Operational and Strategic Implications
The realignment balances fresh administrative capacity with established field experience. By placing probationer IPS officers in pivotal sub-divisional jurisdictions—such as West Srinagar, R.S. Pura, and border-adjacent belts like Nowshera and Bari Brahmana—the administration aims to sharpen ground-level supervision and law enforcement delivery.
Simultaneously, the movement of experienced DSPs into counter-intelligence, financial fraud investigations, security, and traffic management reinforces critical institutional wings across Jammu and Kashmir.
