REC is going to fund 20,000 crore for Power Projects, Telangana

On Tuesday, The Chairman & Managing Director of Rural Electrification Corporation (REC), Rajeev Sharma said to Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao of Telangana that REC is going to fund Rs. 20,000 crore for power projects in Telangana.
During a meeting with the chief minister, he said REC would fund projects of Telangana Generation Corporation (GENCO), Transmission Corporation (TRANSCO) and distribution companies.

GENCO chairman and managing director D. Prabhakar Rao was also present. Prabhakar Rao told the chief minister that the state will get 2,800 MW of additional power by the end of next year from three sources.
