Anil Kumar Assigned Additional Charge as CMD of National Divyangjan Finance and Development Corporation (NDFDC)
In a recent decision reflecting the government’s continued emphasis on inclusive growth and empowerment of persons with disabilities, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved a proposal from the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD) to assign Mr. Anil Kumar, Chief General Manager of the National Divyangjan Finance and Development Corporation (NDFDC), with additional charge of the post of Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD).
As per the official order, Mr. Anil Kumar will assume this additional responsibility for a period of six months starting from September 12, 2025, to March 11, 2026, or until a regular appointment is made, or until further orders are issued by the competent authority — whichever occurs first.
The decision aims to ensure continuity in leadership and effective functioning of NDFDC, a key institution under the DEPwD that provides financial assistance, capacity-building support, and livelihood promotion opportunities for persons with disabilities (Divyangjan) across India. By temporarily entrusting the additional charge to an experienced senior officer within the same organization, the government seeks to maintain momentum in the corporation’s ongoing social and financial inclusion initiatives.
Mr. Anil Kumar, known for his extensive administrative and managerial experience, is expected to oversee NDFDC’s strategic programs, funding mechanisms, and outreach activities designed to promote economic empowerment, entrepreneurship development, and vocational training among differently-abled individuals.
The formal communication regarding this appointment has been issued to the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, under the administrative supervision of Shri Amit Yadav, Secretary, DEPwD, at New Delhi.
This move underscores the Centre’s commitment to ensuring seamless leadership transitions within critical social sector organizations and reinforces its broader vision of building an inclusive and equitable society.
