The Andhra Pradesh government has announced a major reshuffle in its senior bureaucracy, transferring top IAS officers and reappointing a retiring official to crucial posts. The changes, notified through Government Orders (G.O.Rt. Nos. 493 and 494) issued by the General Administration (SC-A) Department, take immediate effect.

Key Appointments

Muddada Ravichandra Transferred to Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams

Muddada Ravichandra, IAS (1996 batch), who was serving as Special Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister, has been transferred and posted as Executive Officer of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD). He has been placed at the disposal of the Revenue (Endowments) Department for this assignment.

G. Sai Prasad Gets Additional Charge

G. Sai Prasad, IAS (1991 batch), currently serving as Chief Secretary to the Government, has been entrusted with full additional charge as:

Special Chief Secretary, Water Resources Department

Special Chief Secretary, Revenue (Land, Disaster Management, Registration and Stamps) Department

This arrangement will continue until further orders, consolidating his leadership across multiple critical portfolios.

K. Vijayanand Reappointed Post Retirement

The government also announced the superannuation and immediate re-employment of senior IAS officer K. Vijayanand (RR:1992). Upon retiring on February 28, 2026 (afternoon), he has been re-appointed as Ex-Officio Special Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister.

Additionally, Vijayanand has been given full additional charge as:

Special Chief Secretary, Energy Department

Chairman and Managing Director of APTRANSCO

His re-employment will be effective from March 1, 2026, for a period of one year or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
