Governor’s Secretariat Reshuffled to Strengthen Administrative Functioning
In a notable administrative reshuffle, the General Administration Department of Bihar has transferred two senior IAS officers from the Governor’s Secretariat, reallocating them to new responsibilities within the state machinery.
As per the official notification:
Sanjay Kumar (IAS, 2011 batch), Special Secretary at the Governor’s Secretariat
Mahabir Prasad Sharma (IAS, 2013 batch)
have been relieved of their current roles and reassigned to the General Administration Department, pending further instructions.
New Appointments in Raj Bhavan
To fill the vacancies, the state government has appointed:
Dr. Nand Lal Arya (IAS, 2014 batch), previously serving as Settlement Officer, Nalanda, as Additional Secretary in the Governor’s Secretariat
Suman Kumar (IAS, 2014 batch), who held the post of Additional Secretary in the Cabinet Secretariat, as Additional Secretary to the Governor
Both officers bring substantive administrative experience and regional exposure to their new roles at Raj Bhavan, expected to enhance efficiency and policy execution.
Purpose Behind the Reshuffle
The personnel changes are part of Bihar’s broader strategy to streamline governance structures and fortify core secretarial functions. The newly appointed officers are expected to support better coordination and delivery within the Governor’s establishment.
