IAS Officer Richa Verma’s Post Upgraded to Director in Higher Education Department Under Central Staffing Scheme
The competent authority has formally cleared a proposal to upgrade the post currently held by Ms. Richa Verma, IAS (Himachal Pradesh cadre: 2012), in the Department of Higher Education. Under the approved decision, the position of Deputy Secretary will be re-designated as that of Director in the Department of Higher Education, as a personal upgradation applicable exclusively to her tenure.
As per the official approval, the re-designation will take effect from 1 January 2026 or from the date Ms. Verma formally assumes charge of the upgraded post, whichever occurs later. The tenure of the re-designated Director-level assignment will continue up to 24 November 2030, completing the full admissible five-year term prescribed under the Central Staffing Scheme.
The order further clarifies that this elevation is a personal measure and does not constitute a general restructuring of posts within the Department of Higher Education. The upgraded designation will remain valid only for the duration of Ms. Verma’s central deputation and will revert to its original status upon the completion of her approved tenure.
Ms. Richa Verma’s central deputation is scheduled to commence with effect from 25 November 2025. During this period, she will discharge responsibilities at the Director level in the Department of Higher Education, aligning her role and designation with the functional requirements of the assignment under the Central Staffing Scheme.
