In a recent administrative move, the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) has announced the appointment of two senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers to important positions at the Centre under the Central Staffing Scheme.
V Jaya Chandra Bhanu Reddy (IAS: 2011: TN)
Mr. Reddy, a Tamil Nadu cadre officer, has been appointed as Director in the Department of Animal Husbandry & Dairying, under the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying. He will serve in this role for a period of five years from the date of assuming charge or until further orders, whichever is earlier. The appointment comes as part of the Centre’s routine rotation of officers to infuse experienced talent into key departments.
Saurabh Kumar (IAS: 2009: CG)
Mr. Kumar, from the Chhattisgarh cadre, has been appointed as Director in the Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance. His tenure will also extend for five years, under the same terms. With over a decade of administrative experience, Mr. Kumar is expected to bring strong leadership and policy insight to the revenue department.
Strategic Bureaucratic Deployment
These appointments reflect the government’s ongoing effort to place capable mid-level bureaucrats in strategic roles across ministries, enhancing governance, policy execution, and inter-departmental coordination.
