In a major administrative move, the Chhattisgarh Police Department has promoted 59 officers across various cadres, following a recent Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) meeting. The Home (Police) Department issued formal orders confirming the elevation of these officers to the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) or equivalent posts.
46 Inspectors Promoted to DSP
Among those promoted, 46 Inspectors — including officers from the 1998, 1999, and 2000 batches — have been upgraded to DSP rank. Notably, these promotions have been approved despite there being only 17 sanctioned DSP posts, acknowledging the officers’ long-standing demand for career advancement. Many of these officers had received only one promotion in nearly 25 years.
Prominent names in this list include Suresh Kumar Bhagat, Om Prakash Kujur, Tul Singh Pattavi, Noharial Mandavi, Yashkaran Dweep Dhruv, Shashikala (Markam) Uike, Sushil Malik, Kamleshwar Kumar Bhagat, along with women officers such as Reena Neelam Kujur, Swati Mishra, Kumari Chandrakar, Asha (Lakra) Tirkey, Mamta Sharma (Ali), and Bharati Markam (Shorey), showcasing a diverse and inclusive promotion round.
Promotions in Supporting and Specialized Cadres
In addition to the Inspector promotions, 7 staff members from supporting roles have also been elevated:
Rustom Sarang
Naresh Kumar Nehru
Telesphore Minz
Yad Ram Baghel

DSP (Reserved Cadre): Seema Ahirwar (Bhaskar)

This large-scale promotion drive is seen as a morale-boosting gesture by the Chhattisgarh government, addressing long-pending service-related issues and rewarding officers for their continued dedication and service.
