Appointments Committee of the Cabinet Waives Cooling-Off Period for Central Deputation of Shri Sadanand S Date, IPS (UK:2007), in Relaxation of IPS Tenure Policy
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has formally approved the proposal submitted by the Ministry of Home Affairs for granting a waiver of the mandatory “cooling-off” period in connection with the central deputation of Shri Sadanand S Date.
An officer of the Indian Police Service belonging to the Uttarakhand cadre of the 2007 batch, Shri Date has been permitted to proceed on central deputation without observing the stipulated interval.
This approval has been accorded as a relaxation of the existing IPS Tenure Policy, thereby enabling Shri Date to take up his new assignment at the central level without delay.
The decision highlights the Committee’s recognition of the officer’s professional competence and the necessity of his immediate availability for responsibilities under the Government of India.
