Deepak Singhal appointed NCR Commissioner

Uttar Pradesh government on Saturday appointed senior IAS officer Deepak Singhal as commissioner of UP’s National Capital Region. Singhal, after a brief stint as UP chief secretary, was shunted out of the top office and given charge of the state vigilance commission where he had been waiting to be bailed out. In comparison to previous assignment, he now gets a plum posting in UP’s NCR. The senior bureaucrat, believed to be close to SP state president Shivpal Yadav.
