Pawan Jeet Singh Elevated to Director in Department of Agricultural Research and Education Under Central Staffing Scheme

In a significant administrative development, the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) has approved the re-designation of Pawan Jeet Singh, a 2012-batch officer of the Indian Ordnance Factory Service (IOFS), from Deputy Secretary to Director in the Department of Agricultural Research and Education (DARE).

The decision was formally conveyed through an Office Memorandum dated March 13, 2026, issued by the Office of the Establishment Officer in New Delhi.

Tenure Under Central Staffing Scheme

According to the memorandum, the re-designation has been approved as a measure personal to the officer and will take effect from the date he assumes charge of the newly re-designated post.

His tenure will continue until October 15, 2030, representing the maximum admissible five-year deputation period under the Central Staffing Scheme.

Deputation Began in October 2025

The order further noted that Pawan Jeet Singh’s central deputation tenure commenced on October 16, 2025.

He is presently serving in the Department of Agricultural Research and Education, which functions under the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare. The department plays a pivotal role in policy coordination and oversight of agricultural research institutions across India, ensuring alignment with national priorities in food security and rural development.

Approval by Competent Authority

The proposal for re-designation was cleared by the Competent Authority following a recommendation from the department. The official communication was issued from Kartavya Bhawan, New Delhi, underscoring the procedural approval process.

The order was signed by Annies Kanmani Joy, Director (MM) at the Department of Personnel and Training, confirming the administrative sanction.
