To safeguard public health and ensure hygienic food practices during religious events, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar District Collector Dilip Swami (IAS) has launched a comprehensive food safety drive across key religious and pilgrimage sites. In coordination with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the district administration is conducting rigorous inspections of food stalls to ensure all consumables served to devotees are clean, certified, and safe.

Special teams have been deployed to high-footfall areas such as temples, religious fairs, and community events, where they are actively monitoring food quality and hygiene standards. Emphasizing that religious devotion should never be compromised by unsafe food practices, Collector Swami has instructed strict adherence to FDA guidelines and has warned of immediate action against violators.

A 2013-batch IAS officer, Dilip Swami is known for his hands-on administrative style and strong commitment to grassroots development. Prior to his current posting, he served as CEO of Akola Zilla Parishad and as Joint Commissioner in the Tribal Development Department, earning praise for his work in rural development and tribal welfare.

Under his leadership, the district has prioritized cleanliness, public safety, and health compliance at mass gatherings. His proactive approach to on-site inspections, especially in densely crowded and sensitive locations, has been widely appreciated by both citizens and state authorities.

This initiative is expected to instill long-term discipline among food vendors and enhance the safety and experience of thousands of pilgrims visiting religious sites in the region.
