Centre Clears Early Repatriation of Aravind Kumar Agrawal (CWES:1997) to Parent Cadre for Promotion Benefits

The Competent Authority has accorded formal approval to a proposal submitted by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) for the premature repatriation of Mr Aravind Kumar Agrawal, a 1997-batch officer of the Central Water Engineering Service (CWES).

Mr Agrawal is currently serving as Director in the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change. The decision allows him to return to his parent cadre ahead of schedule in order to avail himself of promotion-related benefits that are due in his substantive service.

According to the official order, the repatriation has been cleared at the highest administrative level, and all procedural requirements have been completed. As a result, Mr Agrawal is to be relieved of his present responsibilities in the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change with immediate effect.

The order further directs that upon being relieved, he should promptly report to his parent cadre authorities to complete the formalities necessary for assuming charge and for consideration under the relevant promotion framework.

Such premature repatriations are typically approved in cases where officers become eligible for career advancement in their parent services and require timely reversion to ensure that promotional entitlements are not adversely affected.

The development underscores the Centre’s emphasis on ensuring that service-related promotions and cadre management processes are carried out without administrative delays, while also maintaining continuity and institutional discipline in inter-cadre and inter-ministerial postings.
