Appointments Committee of the Cabinet Grants Ex-Post Facto Approval for Entrustment of Additional Charge of MPEDA Chairmanship to Ms. P. Hemalatha, IAS (KN:2000), Development Commissioner, SEZ, Cochin
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has accorded its ex-post facto approval to the proposal submitted by the Department of Commerce regarding the temporary assignment of additional responsibilities to Ms. P. Hemalatha.
An officer of the Indian Administrative Service from the Karnataka cadre of the 2000 batch, Ms. Hemalatha currently holds the position of Development Commissioner, Special Economic Zone (SEZ), Cochin.
Under this approval, Ms. Hemalatha was entrusted with the additional charge of Chairman, Marine Products Export Development Authority (MPEDA), headquartered in Cochin.
The arrangement was sanctioned for the period commencing on December 18, 2025, and concluding on January 2, 2026. This decision reflects the government’s recognition of her administrative capabilities and ensures continuity in leadership at MPEDA during the specified timeframe.
