Extension in service of Vikram Misri as Foreign Secretary

IFS officer Vikram Misri has been granted an extension in his tenure as Foreign Secretary.

Following a directive issued by the Appointment Committee of the Cabinet, name of IFS officer Vikram Misri has been approved for a grant of extension in his tenure as Foreign Secretary.

A year 1989 batch senior IFS officer Vikram Misri has been given the extension beyond the date of his superannuation i.e. November 30, 2024 for a tenure up to 14.07.2026 or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
