ACC Approves Extension of Central Deputation Tenure of Sheetal Verma, IAS, as Director of Census Operations and Director of Citizen Registration, Uttar Pradesh
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has granted its approval to the proposal submitted by the Ministry of Home Affairs for the extension of the central deputation tenure of Ms. Sheetal Verma, IAS (Uttar Pradesh Cadre: 2007 batch), who is presently serving as Director of Census Operations (DCO) and Director of Citizen Registration (DCR), Uttar Pradesh.
As per the approval, Ms. Verma’s central deputation tenure has been extended to an overall period of five years, i.e., up to 05 August 2026, or until further orders are issued by the Government, whichever is earlier.
The extension will continue with the upgradation of the post presently held by her to the level of Joint Secretary, thereby enabling her to discharge responsibilities with commensurate authority and administrative standing.
This decision has been taken in the interest of administrative continuity and to ensure the effective implementation of census operations and citizen registration processes in the State of Uttar Pradesh under the Ministry of Home Affairs.
