The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of Grace Lalrindiki Pachuau, a 2014-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Tamil Nadu cadre, as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs (MoHUA), New Delhi. Her appointment has been made under the Central Staffing Scheme.

According to an official order issued by the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), Pachuau will serve in the post for a tenure of four years from the date she assumes charge, or until further orders, whichever is earlier. She has been directed to be relieved of her present responsibilities immediately in order to take up her new assignment at the Centre.

At present, Pachuau is serving as Additional Secretary in the Revenue and Disaster Management Department of the Government of Tamil Nadu, where she has been actively engaged in policy formulation and administrative management relating to land revenue, relief operations, and disaster mitigation measures.

An accomplished officer with a strong academic background, Pachuau holds an LL.B. degree in Law from the prestigious National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bangalore. Her legal training and field experience are expected to add value to her new role in MoHUA, which plays a crucial part in implementing urban development policies, housing schemes, and flagship government missions in urban governance.
