Kanika Joins AGMUT Cadre Post Inter-Cadre Marriage Ms. Kanika, a 2022 batch IAS officer, has officially been transferred from the Assam-Meghalaya cadre to the Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram and Union Territories (AGMUT) cadre. The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) approved the transfer following her inter-cadre marriage to IPS officer Utkarsha, aligning with the rules that accommodate such cadre changes for married officers from different services or cadres.

Avny Lavasa Resumes Service After Study Leave Meanwhile, Ms. Avny Lavasa, a 2013 batch IAS officer from the AGMUT cadre, has returned to active service following the completion of her study leave abroad. She is expected to re-assume her duties within the administration of one of the Union Territories in the coming days, although her new posting is yet to be officially announced.

Administrative Rationale Both developments are part of routine cadre management processes intended to support professional growth, uphold institutional efficiency, and address personal life situations of serving officers—while ensuring seamless functioning of governance.
