The Central Government has approved the appointment of IAS officer M. Arvind as Director in the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
According to an official order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on September 30, 2025, Arvind’s appointment has been made under the Central Staffing Scheme. He will serve in the position for a tenure of five years from the date he assumes charge, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Arvind, a 2011-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Tamil Nadu cadre, brings with him over a decade of administrative experience. His induction into the DPIIT is expected to strengthen policy formulation and implementation in the crucial sectors of industry promotion, investment facilitation, and internal trade.
