Two-Year Extension Approved

According to the DoPT communication dated July 2026, the ACC has approved the proposal to extend Krishna Kumar Tiwari’s tenure under the Central Staffing Scheme for two years beyond September 30, 2026.

With this approval, he will continue as Director in the Election Commission of India until September 30, 2028, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

The order was addressed to Rahul Sharma, Principal Secretary, Election Commission of India, conveying the approval of the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet.

Serving in ECI Since 2021
