IAS Officer Karma R. Bonpo’s Central Deputation Extended: Competent Authority Approves Tenure Continuation Under Central Staffing Scheme Until November 2027

The Central Government has formally cleared the proposal related to the continuation of central deputation for a senior Indian Administrative Service officer serving under the Central Staffing Scheme.

The decision pertains to Mr Karma R. Bonpo, an IAS officer of the 2010 batch (Sikkim cadre), who is currently posted as Deputy Census Officer/Deputy Census Registrar (DCO/DCR), Sikkim.

According to an official memorandum issued by the Office of the Registrar General of India (RGI), referenced under OM No. A-11011/1/2019-Ad-III dated 10 December 2025, the matter regarding the extension of Shri Bonpo’s deputation tenure was placed before the competent authority for consideration.

After due examination of the proposal, the Competent Authority has accorded approval for extending Mr Karma R. Bonpo’s central deputation beyond its existing validity. As per the approval, his deputation tenure, which was scheduled to conclude on 31 December 2025, has now been extended for an additional period.

The extension will remain effective up to 25 November 2027, or until further orders are issued, whichever occurs earlier. This decision ensures continuity in the officer’s ongoing responsibilities under the Central Staffing Scheme and reflects the government’s assessment of administrative requirements at the central level.
