ACC Approves Entrustment of MyGov CEO Charge to IAS Officers Nand Kumarum and Ajit Kumar

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved ex-post facto entrustment of MyGov CEO charge to Shri Nand Kumarum, IAS (MP:2008) from July–November 2025, and further entrusted the charge to Shri Ajit Kumar, IAS (KL:2006) for six months from November 2025, ensuring continuity in citizen engagement leadership.

New Delhi, March 2026 — The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the proposal of the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY) regarding the entrustment of additional charge of the post of Chief Executive Officer (CEO), MyGov, India’s citizen engagement platform.

Ex-Post Facto Approval for Shri Nand Kumarum

The ACC has granted ex-post facto approval for entrustment of the additional charge of CEO, MyGov to Shri Nand Kumarum, IAS (Madhya Pradesh cadre, 2008 batch), who is serving as President & CEO of the National e-Governance Division (NeGD).

He held the additional charge of CEO, MyGov for the period from 9 July 2025 to 23 November 2025, ensuring continuity in leadership during a transitional phase.

Entrustment of Charge to Shri Ajit Kumar

Further, the ACC has approved the entrustment of the additional charge of CEO, MyGov to Shri Ajit Kumar, IAS (Kerala cadre, 2006 batch), presently serving as Joint Secretary in MeitY.

He will hold the charge for a period of six months with effect from 24 November 2025, or until the appointment of a regular incumbent, or until further orders, whichever is earliest.

Role of MyGov

MyGov, launched in 2014, is the Government of India’s flagship citizen engagement platform designed to foster participatory governance. It enables citizens to contribute ideas, feedback, and suggestions on government policies and programs, thereby strengthening transparency and accountability.

The role of the CEO, MyGov is pivotal in:

Overseeing digital engagement strategies. Expanding citizen participation in policymaking.

Coordinating with ministries and departments for collaborative initiatives. Ensuring technological innovation and outreach for wider inclusivity.

Significance of the Appointments

The ACC’s approval ensures seamless leadership at MyGov during a period of transition. By entrusting the charge to senior IAS officers with proven expertise in governance and digital administration, the government underscores its commitment to strengthening citizen-centric governance.

Shri Nand Kumarum’s tenure provided continuity, while Shri Ajit Kumar’s appointment ensures stability until a permanent CEO is appointed.

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet’s approval of additional charge entrustment for MyGov CEO to Shri Nand Kumarum and Shri Ajit Kumar reflects the government’s emphasis on experienced leadership in digital governance.
