ACC Approves Key IAS Appointments: Narendra Bhooshan Named Land Resources Secretary, Chandra Sekhar Kumar to Head Rainfed Area Authority
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has given its approval to a new set of senior-level administrative appointments, reinforcing leadership in critical government departments.
Shri Narendra Bhooshan (IAS, Uttar Pradesh cadre, 1992 batch), who was currently serving in his parent cadre, has been appointed as Secretary in the Department of Land Resources under the Ministry of Rural Development. His induction into this role is expected to strengthen policy implementation and governance in the land resources sector.
In a parallel development, Shri Chandra Sekhar Kumar (IAS, Odisha cadre, 1992 batch), who was serving as Secretary in the Ministry of Minority Affairs, has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Rainfed Area Authority under the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare.
This position carries the rank and pay equivalent to that of a Secretary to the Government of India, underscoring its significance in shaping policies related to rainfed agriculture and rural sustainability.
These appointments highlight the government’s continued focus on deploying experienced officers in key positions to drive sectoral development and administrative efficiency.
