Deputy Secretary Nikhil Dhongri Elevated as Director in National Health Authority under Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission by Centre
In a significant administrative development, the Government of India has formally approved the elevation of Shri Nikhil Dhongri, IRPS (2012), to the rank of Director within the National Health Authority under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission, operating under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
According to the official decision, the post of Deputy Secretary, which is currently occupied by Shri Dhongri, has been re-designated as Director on a personal basis. This change will come into effect from the date he formally assumes charge of the newly re-designated position.
The appointment will remain valid for the entire duration of the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission. Additionally, the tenure may be further extended in accordance with the permissible limits prescribed under the Central Staffing Scheme, or until any subsequent orders are issued by the competent authority, whichever condition is met earlier.
It has also been officially stated that Shri Nikhil Dhongri’s central deputation tenure stands effective from December 11, 2025.
This elevation reflects the government’s continued focus on strengthening leadership within the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission, a flagship initiative aimed at transforming India’s digital health ecosystem through robust governance, technological integration, and nationwide healthcare digitization.
