Key Appointments and Tenure Extensions for Senior Central Government Officers

The Central Government has announced several significant appointments and tenure extensions for senior bureaucrats across key ministries and departments:

New Appointments

Ashish Vachhani (IAS:1997:TN)

New Role: Additional Secretary, PMO

Current Position: Additional Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance

M S Srikar (IAS:1999:KN)

New Role: Additional Secretary, PMO

Current Position: Additional Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat

Dr. Ajay Kumar (Retd. IAS:1985:KL)

Appointed as: Chairman, UPSC

Rajesh Aggarwal (IAS:1989:MH)

Additional Charge: Secretary, Ministry of Minority Affairs (14.05.2025 to 23.05.2025)

Current Role: Secretary, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan)

Tenure Extensions

Unmesh Sharad Wagh (IRS C&IT:2000)

Extended Role: Additional Charge as Chairman, Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (till 23.08.2025 or until regular appointment)

Gurjeet Singh Dhillon (IOFS:2002)
