ACC Approves One-Year Extension of CRPF IG Sonal V. Misra’s Deputation Tenure Beyond December 2025

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has formally cleared the proposal submitted by the Ministry of Home Affairs for extending the central deputation tenure of Ms. Sonal V. Misra, IPS (Tamil Nadu Cadre: 2000), who is presently serving as Inspector General in the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).

As per the approval, Ms. Misra’s deputation assignment will now continue for an additional period of one year beyond 20 December 2025, notwithstanding the standard provisions laid down under the IPS Tenure Policy, which have been relaxed specifically in her case.

The extension has been granted in recognition of administrative requirements and continuity considerations within the CRPF, one of India’s largest and most critical Central Armed Police Forces entrusted with internal security, counter-insurgency operations, election duties, and law-and-order deployments across sensitive regions of the country.

Ms. Misra has played a significant role in strengthening operational coordination, personnel management, and institutional preparedness within the force. The continuation of her tenure is expected to contribute to sustained leadership stability and improved operational effectiveness during an important phase of internal security management.
