Government Appoints Zuber Mohammad as Deputy Secretary in Olympics Division, Department of Sports
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of Shri Zuber Mohd, an Indian Ordnance Factory Service (IOFS) officer of the 2014 batch, as Deputy Secretary in the Olympics Division under the Department of Sports.
According to the order issued, Shri Mohd has been appointed under the Central Staffing Scheme and will serve at the Deputy Secretary level. His appointment is expected to strengthen the administrative and policy framework of the Olympics Division, which plays a pivotal role in overseeing India’s preparations, coordination, and participation in international sporting events, including the Olympic Games.
The ACC’s decision underscores the government’s focus on streamlining leadership in key divisions of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, particularly at a time when India is intensifying its efforts to enhance its performance and presence on the global sporting stage.
Mr Mohammad has been directed to be relieved of his present responsibilities and is expected to assume charge of his new role in New Delhi shortly.
