The Centre Approves Premature Repatriation of IAS Officer Prajakta L. Verma to Maharashtra Cadre for Promotion Benefit

The Competent Authority has granted approval to a proposal submitted by the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) seeking the premature repatriation of Ms. Prajakta L. Verma, IAS (Maharashtra: 2001). She is currently serving as Joint Secretary in the Department of Atomic Energy.

As per the official decision, Ms. Verma will be relieved from her central deputation ahead of schedule and repatriated to her parent cadre in Maharashtra. The move has been cleared to enable her to avail the benefit of promotion within her state cadre, in accordance with applicable service rules and cadre management provisions.

Ms. Verma, a 2001-batch Indian Administrative Service officer of the Maharashtra cadre, has been holding a key position in the Department of Atomic Energy at the Centre. Her repatriation is understood to be part of routine administrative and cadre-related adjustments aimed at facilitating career progression opportunities for officers serving on central deputation.

The order underscores the government’s established framework that allows All India Service officers to return to their respective cadres to take up promotional assignments, subject to approval by the Competent Authority.
