Gaurav Bharill Elevated to Director-Level Private Secretary to MoS Tribal Affairs Durgadas Uikey; Tenure Extended Till October 2027

In a significant administrative decision, the Government of India has formally upgraded the position of Private Secretary attached to the Minister of State for Tribal Affairs, Shri Durgadas Uikey, enhancing both the rank and status of the post currently held by senior Indian Revenue Service officer Shri Gaurav Bharill.

According to official orders issued by the competent authority, the existing Private Secretary post, which was earlier classified at the Deputy Secretary level within the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, has now been re-designated to the higher Director-level cadre exclusively for Shri Gaurav Bharill, IRS (Income Tax – 2012 batch). This elevation has been granted as a personal upgradation measure in recognition of his services and administrative responsibilities.

The re-designated Director-level Private Secretary position will continue to remain attached to the same Minister, Shri Durgadas Uikey, in the Ministry of Tribal Affairs. Shri Bharill will hold this upgraded post with immediate effect from the date he formally assumes charge of the re-designated position.

As per the terms of the approval, the upgraded designation shall remain valid up to 28 October 2027, or shall remain co-terminus with the tenure of the Minister of State for Tribal Affairs, whichever occurs earlier. The appointment may also conclude earlier if Shri Bharill ceases to function as the Private Secretary to the Minister or if any fresh government orders are issued before the stipulated end date.

It has further been clarified that Shri Gaurav Bharill has been serving on central deputation since 29 October 2020, and the present order forms part of the ongoing extension and restructuring of senior administrative support within the Ministry of Tribal Affairs.
