Jagjit Singh Bawa joined the Indian Police Service on July 13, 1951, and served across multiple districts as Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) and Superintendent of Police (SP) before becoming Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Ferozepur.

He later rose to senior leadership roles as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) and Inspector General of Police (IGP), Punjab. On September 27, 1977, Bawa was deputed to the Centre as Director of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in New Delhi. He retired on February 28, 1985, after receiving a one-year extension beyond the age of superannuation.

 Legacy of Integrity and Leadership
