Punjab: 9 IAS and PCS Officers Shifted – Major Reshuffle Across Education, Urban Planning, and Revenue Departments

In a significant administrative reshuffle, the Punjab Government has transferred nine IAS and PCS officers with immediate effect. The changes span several key departments, including School Education, Revenue, Urban Planning, and Youth Services.

According to the official order issued by Chief Secretary K.A.P. Sinha, IAS officer Aravind Kumar M.K. (2011 batch), currently serving as Director, Treasury & Accounts, has been assigned additional charge as Director General, School Education, replacing IAS officer Girish Dayalan (2011 batch). Dayalan has now been posted as Registrar, Cooperative Societies, Punjab.

Key Transfers in Education, Youth, and Urban Development

IAS officer Harpreet Singh Sudan (2013 batch) has been entrusted with dual responsibilities as Director, Sports & Youth Services, and Director, Higher Education.

In the Urban Planning sector, PCS officer Rakesh Kumar Popli (2012 batch) has been appointed as Additional Chief Administrator of GMADA, SAS Nagar.

Other significant appointments include:

Amit Sareen (PCS, 2012) – posted as Secretary, Punjab Subordinate Services Selection Board

Ankur Mahindroo (PCS, 2016) – appointed as Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Mukerian

Vikas Hira (PCS, 2016) – posted as Additional Chief Administrator, GLADA

Harjot Kaur (PCS, 2022) – transferred as SDM, Patiala

Gurdev Singh Dham (PCS, 2023) – appointed as Chief Minister’s Field Officer, Ferozepur

Immediate Implementation

All officers have been directed to assume their new roles without delay. The reshuffle is part of the government’s strategy to optimize governance, enhance departmental efficiency, and align administrative leadership with evolving developmental priorities.

This move reflects the Punjab Government’s continued focus on strengthening public service delivery through targeted and timely deployment of experienced officers across critical sectors.
