ACC Extends Deputation of IPS Officer Ratn Sanjay Katiyar for Two Additional Years in SSB
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has given its formal approval to a proposal submitted by the Ministry of Home Affairs to extend the central deputation tenure of Mr Ratn Sanjay Katiyar, a 1998-batch Indian Police Service officer from the Bihar cadre.
Mr Katiyar, who is currently serving as Inspector General (IG) in the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), will now continue in his position for an additional period of two years beyond January 19, 2026.
This extension has been granted as a special exception under the IPS Tenure Policy, indicating the government’s recognition of his significant contributions and the need for continuity in leadership within the SSB.
The relaxation reflects the Ministry of Home Affairs’ assessment that Mr Katiyar’s ongoing service is essential for operational effectiveness and strategic stability within the organisation.
