Sweeping Bureaucratic Reshuffle in Maharashtra and Punjab: Seven IAS Officers and Multiple IPS Officials Assigned New Portfolios
In a major administrative restructuring, the governments of Maharashtra and Punjab have announced a wide-ranging reshuffle of senior officers. The move involves the transfer of seven IAS officers across key departments in both states, alongside the reassignment of several IPS officers in Punjab.
The latest orders, issued by the respective state administrations, are intended to realign critical positions such as Commissioners, Managing Directors, Directors, and senior law enforcement roles, thereby strengthening governance and enhancing public service delivery.
Key IAS Transfers in Maharashtra
Maharashtra has carried out significant changes across its bureaucratic framework, placing experienced officers in leadership roles within vital institutions:
Rahul Ranjan Mahiwal (IAS, 2005 batch) has been appointed as Managing Director, Maharashtra State Agriculture Corporation, Pune, where he will oversee agricultural development initiatives and corporate operations.
Prakash Khapale, who previously served as Commissioner, Soil & Water Conservation, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, has now been transferred to Mumbai as Managing Director, Maharashtra State Fisheries Corporation, tasked with strengthening fisheries management and allied industries.
Dr. Manjiri Manolkar, earlier Managing Director, Maharashtra State Agriculture Corporation, Pune, has been posted as Commissioner, Tribal Research & Training Institute, Pune, where she will lead tribal welfare and research programs.
Trikon Kulkarni, formerly Deputy Director General, YASHADA, Pune, has been appointed Chairman, SSC & HSC Board, Pune, taking charge of secondary and higher secondary education administration.
Anjali Ramesh, who served as CEO, Zila Parishad, Hingoli, has been designated as the new Commissioner of Water Conservation, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, responsible for water resource management and conservation projects.

Harsurinder Pal Singh Brar has been appointed as Director General, Higher Education, Punjab, entrusted with steering higher education policy and institutional development.
Harpreet Singh Sudan has been relieved of the additional charge of the Higher Education portfolio, allowing a streamlined focus on his primary responsibilities.
Rubindrajit Singh Brar has been transferred to serve as Additional Chief Executive Officer, Punjab Investment Promotion Bureau, where he will facilitate investment and industrial growth in the state.
