IAS Officer Richa Verma Appointed Deputy Secretary in Department of Higher Education
The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) has approved the appointment of Ms Richa Verma, an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the 2012 Himachal Pradesh cadre, as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, New Delhi.
Ms Verma’s appointment has been made under the Central Staffing Scheme for a four-year tenure, starting from the date she assumes charge of the post, or until further orders, whichever comes earlier.
A Bachelor of Dental Surgery (B.D.S.) graduate from Maharishi Dayanand University (MDU), Rohtak, Verma brings with her extensive administrative experience from her service in the Himachal Pradesh government.
Ms Verma has previously held several key positions, including Managing Director of the Himachal Pradesh State Handicrafts & Handloom Corporation, and most recently served as Managing Director of the Himachal Pradesh State Industrial Development Corporation (HPSIDC) before moving to central deputation.
