Extension of Central Deputation Tenure of Saurabh Kumar Tiwari, Additional Secretary, DBT Mission
New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the extension of central deputation tenure of Mr Saurabh Kumar Tiwari, a 1993-batch officer of the Indian Post & Telecommunication Accounts and Finance Service (IP&TA&FS). He is presently serving as Additional Secretary in the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) Mission under the Cabinet Secretariat.
According to the official order, his tenure has been extended beyond December 10, 2025, until the date of his superannuation, i.e., September 30, 2027, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Mr Tiwari has been playing a crucial role in steering the DBT Mission, which is one of the Government of India’s flagship initiatives aimed at ensuring efficient, transparent, and direct transfer of subsidies and welfare benefits into the bank accounts of beneficiaries, thereby reducing leakages and strengthening governance.
The extension of his deputation not only ensures continuity in leadership but also reflects the government’s confidence in his administrative acumen and domain expertise in financial management, digital governance, and large-scale implementation of welfare delivery systems. His continued presence is expected to further consolidate reforms under the DBT framework and advance the government’s vision of leveraging technology for inclusive growth and citizen empowerment.
