IAS AK Singhal, Additional Secretary, Department of School Education & Literacy, Ministry of Education, Repatriated to His Parent Cadre
The Competent Authority has been pleased to approve the premature repatriation of Anil Kumar Singhal, IAS (Andhra Pradesh cadre, 1993 batch), presently serving as Additional Secretary in the Department of School Education & Literacy, Ministry of Education, to his parent cadre, i.e., the Government of Andhra Pradesh.
This repatriation has been granted on personal grounds, and is subject to the imposition of an “extended cooling-off” period, in accordance with the relevant provisions governing the tenure, deputation, and repatriation of All India Services officers serving in the Government of India. The extended cooling-off condition is to be adhered to strictly as per rules laid down by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT).
Consequently, Singhal may be relieved of his current duties with immediate effect, and is directed to report to the competent authority in his parent cadre without delay, thereby facilitating the formal resumption of service under the State Government.
It is also clarified that the communication issued earlier in this matter, vide letter dated 01.07.2025, stands withdrawn with immediate effect and may be treated as null and void.
All administrative authorities concerned are requested to take necessary steps to ensure a smooth and timely transition, and to update service records accordingly.
