The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved several important senior-level appointments and tenure extensions in key central ministries, including Agriculture, Economic Affairs, and Commerce.
These decisions involve assigning additional responsibilities to senior IAS officers and extending the central deputation tenure of one officer to ensure continuity in administration.
Additional Charge to Sagar Hanuman Singh
The ACC has approved the proposal of the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare to assign additional charge of the post of Director General (Joint Secretary level), National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management (MANAGE), Hyderabad to Mr. Sagar Hanuman Singh.
He is currently serving as Director General of the National Institute of Plant Health Management (NIPHM).
He will hold the additional charge from October 6, 2025 to March 29, 2026, or until a regular officer is appointed, or until further orders — whichever is earlier.
This decision ensures continued leadership at MANAGE, a leading institution focused on agricultural extension, training, and policy support.
Tenure Extension for Baldeo Purushartha
The ACC has also approved the proposal of the Department of Economic Affairs to extend the central deputation tenure of Mr. Baldeo Purushartha, IAS (Punjab cadre, 2002 batch).
He is currently serving as Joint Secretary in the Department of Economic Affairs.
His tenure has been extended for one year beyond March 11, 2026, or until further orders — whichever is earlier.
This extension will help maintain continuity in handling important financial and economic policy matters.
Additional Charge to Dnyaneshwar Bhalchandra Patil
The ACC has further approved the proposal of the Department of Commerce to assign additional charge of the post of Development Commissioner, Special Economic Zone (SEZ), Kandla to Mr. Dnyaneshwar Bhalchandra Patil, IAS (Madhya Pradesh cadre, 2003 batch).
He currently serves as Development Commissioner of Santa Cruz Exclusive Export Processing Zone (SEEPZ SEZ), Mumbai.
He will hold the additional charge for nine months from October 28, 2025 to July 27, 2026, or until a regular incumbent is appointed, or until further orders — whichever is earlier.
This move ensures smooth functioning at Kandla SEZ, a major export hub.
